We are looking for an experienced Communication Manager to join us at a time of growth and opportunity to lead the organisation’s image, PR and brand awareness. The role is vital to the successful delivery of Mercy Ships UK’s strategy and gives the opportunity to shape and craft the internal and external communications and define our image. In an environment of growth and innovation, maximising high profile Christian and Corporate Partnerships; the role manages a range of staff and agencies to support and develop the strategic growth of the marketing team and communication efforts and will define the image of Mercy Ships UK. You will be expected to deliver inspiring and creative communications. Experience in line management, project management, social media, marketing functions management and knowledge of PR and media are essential.

This is an exciting role, taking our raw assets and stories that come from the programme team in Africa and produce engaging, emotive copy that resonates with both our Christian and secular audiences across all channels and to inspire responsive action.
The Writer will craft content for online marketing, fundraising and volunteer recruitment purposes across email fundraising, social media posts and website copy. Also, the successful applicant will produce press releases to appeal to different media outlets, articles, our annual report and other written copy as needed.
This role is fast-paced and will require the ability to prioritise as multiple projects and meet deadlines.

PR Media Coordinator
Within a newly restructured department, this is an exciting role taking main responsibility for planning and executing media relations initiatives. Proactively seeking out opportunities to drive fundraising and increase the general public engagement. To involve our storytellers and thought leaders on relevant and timely issues of public interest. You will possess a great ‘news sense’ and ability to think creatively to get ‘cut through’ in the media and will be able to jump on and maximise opportunities.
Working across our USA based, Global Brand Team, and the UK team, you must have an interest in working with consumer media, have experience of working with national press and planning large public-facing campaigns and the desire to work in a fast-paced team committed to making a difference.
