Lucrech

Lucrech was reaching for his brother’s toy, when he tripped, plunging his arm into a pot of boiling food. Because he didn’t have access to proper medical help, the skin across Lucrech’s palm tightened until each finger was pulled into a permanently bent position.

Lucrech  stopped going to school because he could not write or throw a ball, and the other children teased him. Then hope arrived in the form of our floating hospital. Lucrech received the surgery and other care he needed to regain full use of his arm and hand. “I want to go back to school to write!” Lucrech said. Then, with a heart-melting grin, he added, “I want to play ball with my friends, too!”
