Mercy Ships and Spring Harvest are very proud to be extending their partnership for another two years

Mercy Ships became the official charity partner of the Christian event in 2018 as the two organisations work together the eliminate diseases of poverty.

Spring Harvest, run by Essential Christian, is a teaching and worship event for the whole family which sees around 20,000 Christians come together across three different locations to celebrate their faith.

Mercy Ships was founded 40 years ago and uses hospital ships to provide surgery, training and transformation in developing countries, predominantly in West Africa.

Lea Milligan, Executive Director at Mercy Ships UK, said: “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with Spring Harvest and Essential Christian. Their passion to serve the local church and encourage Christians to put their faith into action is hugely inspiring, and fits perfectly with our mission at Mercy Ships. Through even the smallest deed we can effect real, lasting change – be it here in the UK or in Africa, where our volunteers are currently serving.”

Peter Martin, Group Chief Executive for Essential Christian, commented: “Mercy Ships have captured the hearts of the Spring Harvest guests, mirroring the heart of recent themes of our event. It is exciting to be extending our partnership together especially through this next year as we look at what it is for the church to be ‘unleashed’ to be like the Acts church today. It has not just been the financial asks that have been amazing, but the ability for ordinary people to serve on the Ships in ordinary ways which makes this partnership unique and so accessible. It is exciting for Spring Harvest to be continuing to partner with Mercy Ships.”

Spring Harvest will take place from the 4th to the 9th of April for Minehead One, then 13th to 17th April for Minehead Two and Skegness, with Harrogate from 14th to 18th April. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Unleashed – The Acts Church Today’. Mercy Ships will be offering ways for attendees to ‘unleash their potential’ by exploring volunteering opportunities onboard the Africa Mercy.
