Preparing for life onboard

Hello, my name is Hannah

I am here as your Crew Support Coordinator. You have worked hard on your application to get to this point, and you now have dates to serve onboard the ship. This part can sometimes be the most daunting: thinking about fundraising, what to pack, what insurance to take out, what flights to get and lots of other things. Well, that’s where I step in. I have served onboard twice as a nurse and I know what is involved and my role is to support you.

I am available to speak to on the phone at any point (01483 727800, ask for Hannah). or you can come to the office in Stevenage, or you can email me at Hannah.mulvihill@mercyships.org.uk. We want you to feel totally prepared as you set off on this wonderful chapter in your life so, please interact with us and let us walk alongside you. There is a lot of useful information and links on this page so, click into them all (including the one at the bottom), have a read and then get in touch. I’m excited to meet you!

Pre-boarding Days

I run pre-boarding orientation days in the UK office, which are a valuable resource for you as you prepare to serve onboard. You will leave feeling more informed and prepared for your time on the ship. It is also a fun day, where you get a chance to meet some fellow crew and learn about what to take to the ship, insurance advice, culture shock, what your first 24 hours will look like and all the fun things there are to do off the ship and loads more.

At the moment we are reviewing how we can safely host these and will be running them as soon as we safely can.

Please email me if you would like to register your interest (hannah.mulvihill@mercyships.org.uk).

It is free to attend and lunch will be provided. Long and short term crew are all welcome, so come along and have all your questions answered.
