To make the most of this special occasion the Ball has a fantastic new venue, and another incredible evening of celebration, inspiration, fine-dining and fun is planned.
On 9 June, you are invited to join other prominent guests in the stunning surroundings of 8 Northumberland Avenue, in the heart of central London, to celebrate Mercy Ships 40th anniversary, and to support the world’s largest charity-run hospital ship – the Africa Mercy.
Described by English Heritage as the grandest example of a Victorian Ballroom in existence, the high ceilings, impressive chandeliers, grand columns, stained glass windows and ornate details at 8 Northumberland Avenue will make a lasting impression of a very special and memorable evening with Mercy Ships.
Not only will you enjoy fine dining, brilliant live music, entertainment and auctions, you can also dance long into the night knowing that you are supporting a remarkable cause. Our very special evening will commence with a sparkling Drinks Reception. A sumptuous 4-course dinner specially created for the occasion, and a selection of fine wines to complement the menu, await you in the Ballroom.
During the evening we will be sharing with you some of our past and recent achievements, and looking forward to our hopes and aspirations for the future as we continue to bring dramatic change to the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in the most impoverished corners of the world.
Whether you are looking for an evening of fun with friends and family or a memorable night for your clients, the Mercy Ships 40th anniversary Ball is guaranteed to be a fantastic evening for everyone.
Put 9 June in your diary and reserve your seats now!
Every year, Mercy Ships medical volunteers perform countless medical miracles that transform people’s lives in areas where the majority of the population has little or no access to basic healthcare. Our medical teams are superbly supported by a vast number of technical, marine and other compassionate volunteers from all around the world – 400 of them are onboard the Africa Mercy at any one time – who all support themselves financially, and give their time and expertise for free.
Over the past 40 years, our floating hospitals and extraordinary volunteers have accomplished so much since we first set sail in 1978. Making more than 590 port visits in 70 nations, Mercy Ships has provided free, vital medical care to over 2.5 million people. Training more than 40,000 local health professionals is our lasting legacy to each community visited.
The Africa Mercy is the world’s largest charity-run hospital ship, crewed with the support of an incredible team of volunteers who are self-funded, even paying crew fees while living and volunteering onboard.
There is so much to celebrate, and your friendship and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated. With your support, our volunteers can continue to offer real hope for the future to our brave patients desperately waiting for Mercy Ships in West Africa.
Tickets are £160 per person and include the Drinks Reception, Dinner in the Ballroom, wines and all entertainment. They can be purchased individually or by tables of 12 and 10.
If by chance you are unable to join us on 9 June but wish to make a contribution to Mercy Ships, you are kindly invited to use the same Online Booking Form to make a donation in lieu of attending.

Our exciting Live Auction will again be conducted by the great Charlie Ross, who is known for his incredible energy, humour and support for many good causes, raising millions of pounds for numerous charities across the UK. Charlie has a history of conducting a huge variety of auctions and gained a wealth of experience by delivering many high-profile sales around the world. In 2017 we were delighted to have a breathtaking luxury holiday for 4 in Bali, Wimbledon Centre Court Tickets, an exquisite holiday for 2 at Sir Richard Branson’s private South African Retreat, artwork by Salvador Dali, a box for 15 at the National Television Awards and a luxury all-inclusive Cruise for 2, among other superb prizes in the Live Auction.
Each year the Mercy Ships Ball proceeds make a significant contribution to our work, providing free life-changing operations for those suffering through disease and poverty. While our floating hospital and crew are docked in Cameroon, we are all enormously grateful to friends like you who continue to help us achieve so much, and ensure that help is always available, where it is needed most.
