Tina was born with a clubfoot and struggled to walk.
A national clubfoot programme was established in Madagascar and Mercy Ships helped train local healthcare professionals in 2015. When Mercy Ships returned in 2025, the focus was to strengthen the existing care and expanding the programme to treat older children, like Tina.
When Mercy Ships leaves Madagascar, the healthcare training will continue long into the future.
Every year Mercy Ships trains 3,400 healthcare professionals in their areas of expertise, including anaesthesiology, surgery, nursing, biomedical and sterilisation. Want to help strengthen healthcare systems and make a lasting impact for even more?
