ADOPT A DABBLING DUCK FOR MERCY SHIPS

All along the backwater,
Through the rushes tall,
Ducks are a-dabbling,
Up tails all!

Kenneth Grahame’s Ducks’ Ditty will be echoed at Molesey Lock, near Hampton Court Palace, London on 31st August when 250,000 record-breaking ducks will be launched at the Great British Duck Race in aid of charity.

The ducks will float 1 km down the river to Albany Reach, taking around an hour and a half, where the first numbered duck to cross the finish line will be awarded a prize of £10,000. 30 further prizes are offered by the event organizers and sponsors.

The yellow plastic ducks are all collected for re-use or recycling at the end of the event.

We’d like to lead the charity race in duck adoptions for 2008. Please join in the fun, adopt a duck and make a donation to raise some money for our work! We’re also raising awareness of what we do amongst 5,000 London charity supporters at this great event.
