30th Anniversary Ball

Mercy Ships is celebrating 30 years of service with a gala ball in London on Saturday 31st January 2009.
The ball will celebrate the end of Mercy Ships’ 30th Anniversary, as well as the charity’s return to Benin in February, where the previous ship has been a number of times.
Taking place at the Landmark Hotel, renowned as one of the finest Grande Dames amongst London’s foremost hotels, individual and corporate supporters can expect a delicious 3-course dinner, fabulous wines and great entertainment. During the evening guests will also have an opportunity to bid for amazing prizes in the Live and Silent Auctions as well as participate in a raffle draw. With live music to dance the night away provided by Zodiac and ‘magical’ moments by Magician David Weeks, people can be assured of a stylish and highly entertaining night out.
The evening also has an important purpose. Since 1978 Mercy Ships has been delivering specialised health care and community development services in some of the world’s poorest countries. In that time it has served in more than 150 ports, bringing lasting change to millions of lives. Only last year, the Africa Mercy was launched and spent 10 months docked in Liberia. By the end of those 10 months, dedicated volunteers aboard this sophisticated hospital ship restored the sight of 1,190 adults and children and cured 641 people of painful deformities and injuries.
Tickets for the ball cost £150 per ticket and £1500 for a table, and it’s hoped that companies and individual supporters will come together to mark this special occasion and raise precious funds for Mercy Ships life-changing work in Africa.
